Viola!! After showing you our papaya tree, now i will share you how to consume it as a healthy food. Usually salad consist of some vegetables and edible flower. Aceh has its own salad too it is called Cicah. Regular salad is eaten raw and mixed with olive or fish oil or dressing spice. However Acehnese salad has a different way in process, it is boiled first. Papaya flower is often choose to make this salad. If you had ever tasted this Papaya flower, I believe the taste will lingers in your mind forever as I have told you it is so bitter. That is the reason why it must be boiled with ambarella leaves and a little salt to cure the bitter. After boiling the bitter taste will lost. So let's have a look how to make this flower into an Acehnese salad.
The softened seasoning consist of coconut, union, garlic, candle nut, lemon grass, cayenne, kaffir lime leaves, and last is sunti(dried sour starfruit.
After draining the Papaya leaves and flower, mix with the softened seasoning. Now salad is ready to serve.
