# Had you set your goals for this new year already? 
Maybe yes, maybe not. What about learning a new language? Perhaps you are a polyglot who blows everbody's mind when you open your mouth to say something unpronounceable or you can be a newbie who at least knows your native language. Whatever your case is, there is a lot of benefits of learning another language and you are the only one responsible of achieving your goals and enjoying them, so if this is on your plans or not, let me share just a few benefits of learning new languages: 1. **Touch a different culture:** Speak in a different language is much more to translate what you want to say in other words. It is the expressing way of a whole culture, history, folklore, cosmovision, paradigms, etc. So you are being inmerse in a diametral point of view. 2. **Heart's wealth:** I mean, you start getting filled with new things, you know, you have to love your country and your culture, but you can fall in love also with new customs, traditions, celebrations, and you will be richer in your heart and mind. 3. **Travel:** If you are an english speaker you have several advantages all around the world, but there is nothing more convenient than to speak the native language, it is algo beneficial for doing some bussiness, asking for addresses, making new friends an even have a foreing couple. 4. **Active Brain:** Learning languages will not help you to solve an impossible matemathical problem or to develop some abstract abilities, but your brain will process information in a different way, it helps your brain to change and switch between tasks and to focus better. You have a brain and you are able to learn great things. So, what? I am not a polyglot, my native language is spanish, I know english and currently I am learning french and hebrew, but I am excited with all those facts I wrote you above, so you can do the following: *a. Look for conversations* Maybe with some friends, with a mentor, skype, fiverr, etc. The more you think in your new language the more you adapt the world to those new words. *d. Do not forget grammar* Rules, accents, scenarios and meanings are so important, do not forget them because is very brightful when a foreign person can express the same way a native person does. *e.
