The Halifax River in Volusia County, Florida offers calm water for those who just want to spend the day on the river. It only runs about 25 miles before it combines with Spruce Creek and then flows into the Alantic. But it offers miles of fun for the boater, You do need to watch the tide, though. During low tide you can easily get stuck on it's sandy bottom, the water is so low.

The day has ended and the sun is setting over Daytona Beach. The boat has docked, the fish have been cleaned, and now it is time to get the days catch ready for the freezer. The above dock is my daughter's private dock and the sunset can be watched each night from the dock. Life is beautiful and serene on the Halifax River.

The sun has set and nature's light show has begun. The next couple of days are expected to be stormy with lots of rain for the gardens. But for now, you can sit back and watch the light show. (This picture was taken by my daughter, Yvonne Perry just as the storm began.)
Enjoy a winter break on the Halifax,
